DVD Jacket Cover Project
This project is being done in conjunction with your social studies class and the study of the reform movements of the 1800's. You will take the research that you have done and create a DVD jacket for either a specific reformer or a famous event that your reformer was involved in. Please note that any additional research for this project is to be done in the time frame that you are given. I will not be setting aside time for research for this part of the assignment as it should have already been completed in social studies class. The following is a list of the required elements for this project:
Front
1. Strong and apparent title
2. Strong and apparent sub title (no more than 7 words long)
3. Strong image
Spine
1. Title
2. Subtitle
Back
1. Complete summary of the person or the event you are showcasing. This means full sentences, written for a 3rd party audience who knows nothing about the
person or event.
2. A map or a timeline of events.
3. Movie credits
4. Main characters. This should be a list of the people who were most important in the event or the individual person's life.
5. Three images.
Other things:
1. Production company logo
2. Closed captioning symbol
3. Bar code
4. Rating symbol (G, PG, PG-13, R)
5. DVD or Blue Ray Symbol
6. Sound Symbol
7. Video Format Symbol (Example: Widescreen")

Students will demonstrate proficiency in use of Photoshop by being able to create a project of their own using a template. This will be demonstrated through their graded project.
