Decades Timeline Project
Students will create a timeline that will highlight the events, people, places and culture of their chosen decade (1900-1990). You will be researching as much information as you can about the decade that you choose and displaying the information in a timeline format. This is a type of graphic organizer and concept-mapping software. You will be responsible for reporting the following information:
5 innovations or inventions of your decade
5 major domestic events (news)
5 major world events (news)
5 important people that were influential in your decade (either born in your decade or did something in your decade)
5 major accomplishments
5 struggles and/or challenges
You may NOT use Wikipedia as a source for information. Also remember that Google and Google Images are not sources.
Students will be required to know more information about their decade than what is posted on their timeline and be able to speak intelligently about all of the information that they post to their timeline. Students are supposed to be researching and learning about he decade they have chosen not just copy and pasting information from another source to complete the project. Additional questions about the timeline will be asked by either the instructor or the class dueing or after the student presents their timeline.
Presentation of the timeline is required.
As always, spelling, grammar and quality of content will count.
Students will receive a lecture propr to the beginning of this project that deals with some of the software features they may not be familiar with as well as infromation on copyright law, plagiarism and lawful use of materials that are not of their own creation. Failure to comply with "Fair Use" guidelines may result in a zero for this assignment.
Projects will be saved using the standard naming convention: last name first name project name hour they will then be saved to the designated folder.
