Digital Footprint
Students are looking to get a sample of their digital footprint--this is the meassure of their use and exposure on the Internet. Students have received a lecture on this topic and are going to use a concept-mapping software called bubbl.us to create a visual representation of their digital footprint.
Special Instruction:
1. Every Student has a digital footprint.
2. When referencing sites like social networking--students only need to show 40 connections to their accounts, in other words, they only need to have 20 "friends" shown relating to that site. Students only need to put their "friends'" initials in the balloons.
3. For email and texting references, students only need to show 20. Students only need to put their "friends'" initials in the balloons.
4. Students are to think of and show as many websites as possible for this assignment. Sites that they use often. This will include all of the sites that we have used for class, including this one; sites they use to find maps, informaiton, read books on, play games on, etc.
5. Students should also think of and show all of the websites they use at home for the same reasons as above.
6. Don't forget about your Kindle, Nook, Ipad, Ipod, cell phones, Gameboy, DS, PsP or any other digital device. This would include Playstation, Wii, or xBox 360's.

This is an all or nothing assignment that is worth 20 points.
Time to complete:
This project should take no longer than 2 in-class hours to complete.
The Point:
Students are using a Web 2.0 software solution to draft a project.
Students will use concept-mapping software to visualize an abstract idea.
Students will learn about how little or much they are exposed on the Internet.
Students will learn about Internet safety and how they can control their own risk.
